Moose Hunts in Northern Maine
Maine has the largest moose population in the lower 48. We offer guided moose hunts and often receive a lodge tag permit through a special drawing for lodges in January. With this special drawing, you can skip the Maine moose hunting lottery and purchase a hunting package outright. Please call or email to inquire about our moose hunting rates and packages.

Fishing on East Grand Lake
From May to September, the angler may choose from lake or stream fishing for landlocked salmon, brook trout, lake trout, or small mouth bass. Fish East Grand Lake from our private access or choose from one of several other local streams, brooks and ponds in Northern Maine. Angling techniques and equipment can vary from wade and drift fly fishing, and spin-casting, to trolling streamer flies and lures.

Bird Hunting in Northern Maine
The autumn is a special time in Northern Maine . The foliage viewed from First Settler’s Lodge shows off some of most brilliant landscapes in northern Maine. Our area is blessed with excellent covers and populations of woodcock and ruffed grouse. The fall is truly a rewarding time to be in the Maine Woods.

Guided Maine Nature and River Tours
Arm yourself with a camera and enjoy a guided Maine nature tour with an experienced guide who will show you incredible scenery and wildlife. Bald Eagles, spruce grouse, deer, and quite possibly, a moose can be seen during this Maine experience. For more information go to: http://canoethewild.com/maine-vacation-packages.htm

Northern Maine Goose Hunts
Northern Maine goose hunts are provided by Peter Blood. A past White Water Canoe Champion for the State of Maine, Peter Blood has spent his life in the Maine woods and on the water. Becoming a guide was natural for him and he has devoted his life to his family and the outdoors and will throw in a good joke or story when you least expect it. He particularly enjoys taking clients goose hunting and has a high success rate. September has an early season with a daily limit of 6 birds and October has a season with a 2 bird limit. The September hunt can be combined with the Moose hunt (lottery only) and October with native grouse hunt.
